Middle-Aged Folk Dance Ensemble DZIGA

The middle-aged folk dance ensemble "Dziga" of Rēzekne City Municipal Agency “Rēzekne Culture and Tourism Centre” was established in 1996. Dances in the repertoire of “Dziga”, mainly containing the material of folklore from Latgale, have been created by the ensemble leader Ilmārs Dreļs, for which the ensemble has won prizes and has been awarded in numerous Latvian New Choreography Competitions; also these dances have been included in the repertoire of the Latvian Song and Dance Celebration. It boasts extensive experience with concert tours both locally and abroad in international festivals, also in presentation events of the city of Rēzekne and commonwealth events across the border.
The accompaniment is played by the band “Dziga”.
